CONTEST RULES: Contest is for a story to appear in an upcoming issue of Ohio Metal Detecting magazine. First prize will be a Garrett Pro-Pointer (Retail value $149.95) courtesy Treasure Hunters Supply. One winner will be chosen. All stories submitted are eligible for publication, though only one prize winner will be chosen in the contest period. One entry per person.
Stories can be on any topic that might be of interest to metal detectorists, techniques, finds, research, etc. Entries will be judged on relevance of content, accompanying photographs or illustrations (if any). Your entry should be a minimum of 1,000 words in length with no maximum. Stories will not be judged based on word count. Previously published stories and stories forthcoming at other publications cannot be considered. This includes online journals and other websites.
Stories and photographs may be submitted via e-mail to ohiometaldetecting+garrett@gmail.com. Please put “Contest Entry” in the subject line. Mail entries can be sent to Garrett Contest, c/o Legendary Ink Printing, 5115 Parkcenter Ave., Suite 180, Dublin, OH 43017. All entries must include full name, age, address, daytime and evening phone numbers, and email address. You must use your real name on your entry submission, but for the purposes of publication pseudonyms are permitted. Contestants must agree to allow Ohio Metal Detecting magazine to publish their stories, names (or if requested, a pseudonym), and biographical information.
Contest period begins July 1, 2011 and ends September 15, 2011. Online entries must be received by September 15, 2011. Mail-in entries must be postmarked by September 15, 2011 and received by September 23, 2011. Ohio Metal Detecting magazine and/or Sponsor is not responsible for lost or misdirected entries or corrupted files.
Submission shall remain the property of the entrant, but entry into this Contest constitutes entrant’s irrevocable and perpetual permission and consent, without further compensation, with or without attribution, to use, reproduce, print, publish, transmit, distribute, sell, perform, adapt, enhance, or display such Submission for any purpose, including but not limited to editorial, advertising, trade, commercial, and publicity purposes by the Sponsor and/or others authorized by the Sponsor, in any and all media now in existence or hereinafter created, throughout the world, for the duration or the copyright in the Submission. Sponsor and/or others authorized by the Sponsor shall have the right to edit, adapt, and modify the Submission.
No prize or any portion thereof is transferable or redeemable for cash. All federal, state and/or local income and other taxes, if any, are the winner’s sole responsibility.
